As you approach and soon thereafter pass the dreaded  after 40 period,  you will hopefully be entering the most exciting years of your life. Embracing such a great starting point for your “Renaissance” years should be exciting and fun!!

In our 20’s and 30’s, most of us are busy with school, careers and starting families. We don’t have a lot down time to really get in touch with what gives us the greatest pleasures.

As we move into the 2nd part of our lives, we normally discover that life can get even sweeter and more fulfilling because we have hopefully matured from past experiences and have so much to share.

The 40’s can become our greatest decade. Still young enough to hopefully embrace the activities we enjoy, but also old enough to know what we want!

Finding a partner to love or share fun times with can be somewhat challenging but also rewarding if we approach it the right way! People tend to be more mature in their forties, but do keep in mind that there is many times more baggage carried as well.

Women over 40 can face concerns that they didn’t really deal with when married, such as incontinence due to child birth, lack of sex drive and menopause. These issues become more important as she starts to venture out in the dating world after her marriage ends.

Having limited libido and being single really are an oxymoron. Suddenly, having a sex life may be not only a novelty but also very important to her partner. Women in their 40’s might start having hot flashes and mood swings.

There is medication available to balance out the hormonal agony that she might suffer. Doctors are actually now using small doses of testosterone, which is a male hormone, to give a woman over 40 more energy as well as increased sex drive.

Many single women over 40 are now empty nesters or nearly so . They can enjoy their time out as well as their time alone. They also will display more confidence in themselves which is a big turn on for men. Guys love a woman who has self confidence and knows what she wants. Do beware that this does scare some men, so be prepared to move to the next if that happens!!
