So, now you are finally free and able to pursue other women. Something you might have thought about when you were married, but now it is a firm reality. Where should you look and what do you really want??

At the onset of a breakup, the idea of being free to do as you please and date other women holds some very pleasureable thoughts. Then, as  you get the reality check and realize that you don’t know how to get started with the process, it can be a daunting feeling.

When you are going through the process of a divorce or the breakup after a long term relationship, you might not have an understanding of the journey you are about to undertake. Yes, being single again becomes somewhat of a journey to the next part of your life.

Before you even start dating, take a good look at yourself. I mean that in both a literal and non literal sense. Get in front of a full length mirror. Ask yourself this question: Would you date YOU? I honestly doubt that many of you would say ” yes” !

After that good look in the mirror,  you must decide what it is about you that is great and what needs working on. Be careful, we all tend to be our own worst critics and you want to avoid over criticism of yourself.  There are undoubtedly traits that women will find rather appealing.

If it is your clothing style, take a trip to Target, Ross or Steinmart and select a few pairs of pants and shirts to start. They don’t have to be the most expensive clothes, but should be somewhat stylish.  Check with a female that you know to advise you.

The next thing that might need a bit of a change is your hair. When you were married, you might not have paid much attention to how it looked. Go to a good barber or stylist and have a good haircut. Women notice hair!

Also, just some friendly advice that some men don’t get. Check out your shoes before you walk out the door to meet your date. We do not really like to see men in sandals except at the beach.  Men’s feet are not highly regarded by us women and are certainly not your most attractive feature. So, leave you sandals in the closet and wear a nice pair of casual shoes if it fits the occasion. Make sure they are not a 10 year old pair with scuff marks or your tennis shoes that you play softball in!

These few pointers will  provide you with a few advantages when trying to meet women. Dating after a breakup can be like rocket science if you don’ t have the tools to get you through it!
